FOOTNOTES
  • 1. Abuse Considerations: 1. Many pediatric traumas can be appropriately cared for in their communities. Contact tele trauma or your referring center to review best practice in trauma management and transfer need for your patient. 2. Plausibility of injuries are highly dependent on child health and development. Injuries concerning for abuse may not require inpatient care and can often be assessed in a local outpatient setting. Contact a Child Abuse Pediatrician (Safe and Healthy Families) to review concerns prior to CPS referral or transfer. Please recognize that most CPS agencies have no medical expertise to interpret the likelihood of NAT based on medical information.
